How to Complete the Vehicle Registration Form
You must have your vehicle license plate number to receive a parking permit. If you have a new vehicle, we will need your temporary
plate information and VIN number (found in the front corner of dashboard).

CANCELLATION OF PERMIT
Parking must be canceled by the third (3rd) of the month for a refund, credit to student account or payroll deduction to stop from that month going forward. There is no pro-ration credit within the month. To cancel parking, the hangtag and/or access card must be returned directly to Transportation Services and a cancellation form completed. If you are going out on a leave (FMLA or other), remember to cancel your parking permit.
REFUNDS
A refund will be given for a permit where the deduction or student account was taken on an annual basis or paid in full via cash or cleared check. The permit /access card and a forwarding address must be submitted directly to Transportation Services before a refund or student account credit will be issued. A refund check will be issued for the unused portion of the permit, no pro-ration given within the month. No refunds are given for unused portions of monthly permits.
REPLACEMENT PERMITS
A permit holder should report any lost or stolen permits to Transportation Services immediately. The missing permit will be placed on a tow list at both the Medical School and the Hilltop Campus. Any vehicle found with a lost/stolen permit will be towed/booted at the owner’s expense and the owner fined a minimum of $550 +. A replacement permit will be sold to the employee/student at the non-refundable cost of $20.00.
VIOLATIONS / FINES
Washington University School of Medicine has adopted a strict policy for parking enforcement. Parking ticket fines are printed on each specific ticket placed on a vehicle that is parked in violation. Contact WUSM Transportation Services with appropriate payment information to avoid a $5 late/ processing fee. The owner is responsible for all costs. The School of Medicine reserves the right to immobilize and/or tow any vehicle parked in violation or is abandoned or derelict. Particular emphasis for tows/boots is given to vehicles parked in fire lanes, handicap or loading zones, or otherwise creating a hazard, even if the owner has incurred no previous violations. In addition, vehicles with three or more unpaid violations and/or habitual violators may be immobilized (booted) or towed. With continued violations, a letter may be forwarded to their department business manager or the assistant dean for student affairs, requesting counseling of the individual. If you forget to display your parking permit and receive a violation, the violation will only be waived 5 times upon contact with WUSM Transportation Services within 7 days of the violation. DO NOT PARK IN PATIENT OR VISITOR SPACES.
Transportation Services should be contacted within 14 days of the violation to set up payment via cash, check, payroll deduction or Student Account. If a violation remains unpaid 14 days after date of issuance and the violator has not contacted Transportation Services, Transportation Services reserves the right to automatically payroll deduct or place the violation on the student's account including a late fee. Late payment fees, (added to each fine not paid within 14 days) are $5 per violation. A listing of violations and fines are available from Transportation Services upon request. Students with delinquent fines will have their academic records placed “on hold” with the University Registrar and fines applied to your Student Account. Registration materials, transcripts, diploma, and grade reports will be withheld pending settlement of all fines.
Abandoned or derelict vehicles may be towed, stored and/or disposed of at the discretion of Transportation Services. A vehicle is considered derelict or abandoned if it is not properly licensed, inoperative or partially dismantled and parked on the University property in excess of 10 days. ALL VEHICLES MUST HAVE CURRENT LICENSE PLATES VISABLE.
Appeals must be received in writing by Transportation Services within 7 calendar days of the violation. Appeals not granted will be subject to a $5.00 processing fee.
CHANGE OF INFORMATION
If an employee or student disposes of or adds a vehicle, changes departments, status, phone number, etc., a change form should be completed and faxed or mailed back to Transportation Services.
